First Open the Posts Menu

To Add A Regular Post

Click Add New.  Enter a Post Title and the text of your Post in the boxes.  Use the toolbar items to make it look the way you want.

When you have finished writing your message scroll down just a little until you see the Post Tags and Categories boxes on the right.  Add Tags to your post that will be used by the Search tool (tags are like keywords/phrases) and Check only the appropriate category boxes.

Scroll down just a little more and you will see a Discussion box in the center of the page. You CAN uncheck the ‘Allow Comments . . .’but this should be the exception rather than the rule.

Next, scroll all the way down to Post Author and be sure you are listed as the author.  The software has this small bug and doesn’t always attribute posts to the correct author.

NOTE: You can drag all these boxes around and rearrange them to suit you.

When done, go back to the top and click Publish.

To Add An Event Post

An Event Post is a Calendar Event.  You may have noticed that the ‘Events’ category was grayed out and not selectable.  That is because that category belongs to the Event Calendar application. To add and event you enter your title and text as in a regular post but then scroll down to the Event Editor to add your date, time and duration data.

Click on the + to start then enter your start and end data as yyyy-mm-dd 24:00 or click the … to use the calendar popup.  Note that times are 24hr.

When done go back to the top and click Publish.

To Edit A Post

Click Edit and hover over the title of the Post you wish to edit and a menu opens below it.  Click the Edit option and proceed the same as adding.  When done got to top and click Update Post.  For users who are authorized to review/approve posts by Contributors the process is the same but the button at the end will say Publish.

Other

The Post Tags and Categories options allow authorized users to add tags and categories to the universe.
